Mountain Optech has spent over 15 years specializing in the art of ruggedizing mass memory storage devices, with a focus on optical technology. Magneto-Optic (MO) is an established technology that has proven itself in many varied applications. Inherently rugged optical media, with current capacities to 5.2 gigabytes per 5.25" disk, operates over a broad range of temperatures. Optically recorded data cannot be accidentally erased by stray magnetic fields and, of course, removable media cartridges provide virtually unlimited storage capacity.
MOI works closely with the DOD and systems integrators to create rugged optical drives for the real world, with several diverse form factors and levels of environmental severity. With COTS desk-top, to ship-board to avionics models to choose from, drives can include conformal coating of electronics, shock & vibration isolation systems, temperature firmware, all-attitude operation and more. |
